A Conversation on Race and Racial Justice
Thu, Aug 20th 7pm - 8:30pm
From your home your home your city, your state your zip

The issues of race and racial justice have been on all of our hearts. The Adult Education committee invites you to take part in an upcoming conversation on these matters. We will use the 2019 film Just Mercy as our starting point to facilitate dialogue, while also leaving room for the Spirit to guide us. Conversations will take place over Zoom and be moderated by Pastor Matt, Pastor Chris, and Mark Jones. Four separate Zoom meetings have been scheduled with a maximum capacity of 15 participants (to better allow for sharing and listening). To register for a space, please contact the church office at office@westwoodpres.org. (If there is need for more groups, we will add them.) Participants are asked to view Just Mercy on their own prior to joining the Zoom conversation; viewing options are available at justmercyfilm.com. Scheduled conversation dates are August 9, 12, 16, and 20 (each beginning at 7pm). We hope this initial conversation and forum for listening and sharing will lead us to better understand and act upon God’s call for all of us to be people of equity, justice, and reconciliation. No one event can change the world, but we pray this is a starting point for our WPC community.
