WPC’s Mission & Outreach and Adult Education committees welcome Marshall Wong as our Faith Conversation presenter on Sunday, June 5 at 11:20am in Hoffman Hall. A native of Los Angeles, he has served with the LA County Commission on Human Relations since 1999, currently as Senior Intergroup Relations Specialist. As the Commission’s Hate Crime Coordinator, he is principal author of the annual Hate Crime Report. He also staffs a countywide coalition, the Network Against Hate Crime, and provides training for law enforcement and service providers. He will share information about the incidents of hate crimes dominating much of LA County’s news in recent months, including eye-opening statistics about the impact in West LA. His presentation will help inform the much-needed ongoing dialogue around topics such as pandemic-related hate crime, racialized gang violence, xenophobia, and white supremacy. You don’t want to miss this conversation!
